We’re stoked to introduce you to the ten companies selected for Launch Party 13 

Launch Party, the city’s flagship event during Edmonton Startup Week, celebrates and showcases the hottest startups in town. The 13th annual edition of Launch Party, hosted by Edmonton Unlimited, is going be in-person this year thanks to the generous support of Parlee McLaws. 

Launch Party gives you the opportunity to meet our city’s brightest entrepreneurs, try their products, and celebrate everything that our startup community has to offer. Since 2010, more than 100 technology companies have launched products at the event, including rapidly growing teams like Jobber, Drivewyze, Vertical City, and Showbie. 

Being a founder is a journey like no other, we’ve seen firsthand the incredible levels of determination and passion it takes to embark on this journey. The courage these companies display is inspiring to us all, and we can’t wait to celebrate all your achievements with you at Launch Party 13. Our community is made up of so many brilliant problem solvers, I look forward to connecting with the members of our vibrant community and learning all about the exciting ideas Edmontonians are working on.

Introducing Launch Party Class of 2022 

Kidney-Chek by sn biomedical

sn biomedical was founded by Dr. Hillary Sweet and Dr. Matthew Nickel in 2019 shortly after graduating from their PhDs at the University of Alberta, with the goal of helping pets live longer, healthier lives. Kidney-Chek is a revolutionary saliva test that pet parents can use at home to check their dog or cat’s kidney function in only 2 minutes.

Varme is a progressive, modern energy company that aims to shape the future of waste. With solutions that have the capability to divert up to 150,000 tons of waste per facility from Edmonton landfills, as well as established carbon capture and storage technology that reduce ghg emissions considerably, Varme Energy is changing the way we deal with waste in Canada.
