We’re building a culture where trying, failing fast, and trying again is part of the process—because every idea has the potential to spark something bigger.
Your Opportunity:
We are looking for a Program Specialist to join our vibrant in-office team in Edmonton, reporting to the Director of Founder Success. In this role, you will lead the program development, rollout, day-to-day execution, and operational management of our Pre-Accelerator program. You will handle everything from sourcing and screening startup applications to executing a cohort-style program and coordinating high-impact showcase events. This role is ideal for a structured, execution-minded professional with a passion for program development, client success and project management.
What We’re Looking For:
- Founder First: You have a deep empathy for the entrepreneurial path. You focus on understanding the unique founder journey, from application and initial screening through program execution, ensuring every program component is designed to drive growth and momentum for early-stage startups.
- Logistics & Execution: You excel at moving parts. Timelines, program calendars, resource plans, and the day-to-day operational execution of workshops and cohort activities are your core strengths.
- Proactive Problem Solver: You have a knack for identifying challenges before they surface and proactively anticipate and act on the needs of multiple collaborators/stakeholders. ● Ecosystem Connector: You naturally bridge gaps. You are skilled at engaging, onboarding, and coordinating with community partners, coaches, and external subject matter experts to deliver high-impact sessions and mentorship.
- Sustainable Program Builder: You look beyond the immediate pilot phase. You have a passion for taking an initial program concept, absorbing key insights, and establishing the playbooks and processes needed to run it as a repeatable and long-term ecosystem asset.
What You’ll Do:
- Program Delivery: Lead the delivery and execution of program components, aligning with desired program objectives. Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership for program enhancements.
- Coordinate Startup Selection: Lead the coordination efforts to source, screen, and evaluate startup applications, ensuring a high-quality cohort selection that matches the program’s target profile.
- Lead Community Engagement: Engage and organize community partners, facilitators, coaches and external subject matter experts to facilitate specialized workshops, advisory sessions, and networking opportunities.
- Manage End-to-End Logistics: Map out and oversee all operational logistics for program delivery, workshops, and cohort demo days, including project activities, work back schedules, resource mapping, and proactive operational adjustments.
- Track Milestones & Analytics: Partner with the Edmonton Unlimited data team to collect and collate metrics from program intakes and outcomes, tracking cohort success directly against organizational KPIs.
- Mitigate Operational Risks: Set clear project milestones, identify barriers to successful execution, manage resource allocations, and ensure reliable follow-through.
- Scale the Pilot: Absorb pilot learnings, build and enhance playbooks and processes, in order to establish the Pre-Accelerator as a sustainable, recurring program.
What You Bring to the Role:
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience managing, executing, or scaling structured ● programs, incubators, or educational cohorts.
- Operational Discipline: Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to work with structured timelines to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
- Impeccable Attention to Detail: Reliable follow-through on project milestones, metrics, commitments, and program delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to seamlessly facilitate collaboration among multiple parties and align them toward a cohesive outcome. ● Agility: The proven ability to balance multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Location: This is a 100% in-person role based in Edmonton. Applicants must be located in the Edmonton area.
Would Be an Asset:
- Ecosystem Knowledge: A strong understanding of early-stage entrepreneur development and a familiarity with the startup landscape in Edmonton.
- Technical Proficiency: Competency and hands-on familiarity with modern collaborative tools such as G-Suite, Asana, and Slack.
As part of our team, you’ll enjoy:
