Celebrating a year of success and empowering Edmonton’s ambitious innovators
EDMONTON, April 18, 2024 – Edmonton Unlimited has unveiled its 2023 annual report, which celebrates a year of success, and showcases insights into the city’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. Following the Annual General Meeting of the Shareholder on April 18th, 2024, Edmonton Unlimited released metrics around their community engagement and innovator support programs—Startup, Accelerate, and Capital City Pilots— that provide tailored business resources for innovators through each stage of their journey.
The report features local innovators and Edmonton Unlimited program participants, showcasing first-hand experiences and milestones from SpectraCann, UpRow, C², Team CarePal, and Zero Point Cryogenics.
The report also includes an overview of Edmonton Unlimited’s 2023 initiatives and program updates, along with the following significant highlights:
- In 2023, Edmonton Unlimited supported 1,372 program participants, across startup programming.
- Companies supported by Edmonton Unlimited had a 136 net increase in jobs.
- Edmonton Unlimited programs received a world-class 89 NPS SCORE.
- Through various programs, Edmonton Unlimited administered 6,496 hours of one-to-one coaching delivered by a network of 100+ experts and business leaders.
- Companies supported by Edmonton Unlimited received $21M* in investment. *Cumulative over the last three years.
- In 2023, Edmonton Unlimited produced the 10th edition of Edmonton Startup Week, a five-day event celebrating and showcasing Edmonton’s unique entrepreneurial identity, startup community and innovation culture. This consisted of:
- 2000+ attendees
- 65+ events
- 600+ launch partiers
- 10 pitching companies
- In May 2023, Edmonton Unlimited opened the doors to its downtown space, creating a home for innovators, program delivery, community events, mission-aligned partners, and world-class accelerators. Since opening, they’ve hosted over 119 events in their space, bringing over 7,600 community members together.
