Your Opportunity: 

We are seeking a passionate and driven Venture Success Lead to join our dynamic team. In this role, you  will serve as the primary relationship manager for startups within our Venture Hub, guiding ventures  through their development journey from pre-seed to scaling growth stages. Reporting directly to the VP  of Venture and Community, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the success of early-stage ventures,  ensuring they have the resources, mentorship, and strategic guidance they need to thrive and scale.

  • Strategic Connector: You excel at guiding ventures through onboarding, goal setting, and road  mapping. By understanding their unique needs, you seamlessly match them with the right  programs, mentors, and resources to drive success.  
  • Data-Driven Coach: You know how to track key metrics, evaluate company growth, and identify  critical next steps. You provide structured support through regular check-ins, ensuring ventures  stay on course to achieve their goals.  
  • Collaborative Problem-Solver: You’re proactive in scouting expertise, preparing intelligence  briefs, and coordinating with a global network of mentors. Your ability to facilitate productive  relationships ensures ventures receive the best possible guidance.  

What You’ll Do: 

  • Portfolio Management: You build and manage strong relationships with companies from pre seed to scaling growth stages, guiding them through onboarding, goal setting, and road  mapping. By understanding their needs, you connect them with the right programs and resources  to help them achieve key milestones and success metrics 
  • Mentor & Expertise Connector: You coordinate with a global network of coaches and mentors,  facilitating valuable relationships between ventures and industry experts. By scouting relevant  expertise, preparing intelligence briefs, and tracking progress, you ensure ventures receive the  right guidance to overcome challenges and accelerate growth.
  • Lead Engaging Programs & Build Best Practices: Design playbooks and frameworks to enhance  venture support, mentorship, and collaboration while organizing dynamic workshops, networking  events, and innovation challenges that connect startups with industry leaders. 
  • Growth Navigator: You apply our development framework to assess company growth, guiding  ventures through key milestones and development journeys. Through regular check-ins, you  support performance goals, track key metrics, and identify critical next steps to drive venture  success. 

Top Priorities for the First Year: 

As our Venture Success Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in expanding our venture portfolio. Your first  year will include key priorities such as:  

  • Define the Future: Identify and develop challenge areas in collaboration with industry partners  to drive new opportunities.  
  • Build High-Impact Teams: Recruit and support diverse startup teams as they navigate venture  development.  
  • Set the Playbook for Success: Develop frameworks and best practices to streamline  recruitment, partnerships, and program delivery.  
  • Measure & Showcase Impact: Establish effective ways to track progress and demonstrate  success.  
  • Grow a Thriving Ecosystem: Cultivate strong relationships with industry leaders, startups, and  subject matter experts to create long-term success.  

What You Bring to the Role: 

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, Entrepreneurship, or related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years experience with startups or innovation support.
  • Venture Savvy: You have a strong understanding of venture journeys, startup operations, GTM  

(Go-to-Market) strategies, and funding mechanisms. You can guide companies through growth  stages with confidence. 

  • Relationship Builder: You excel at communication and relationship management, forging  connections with founders, investors, and ecosystem partners to support venture success.
  • Project Management Pro: You can juggle multiple projects at once, keeping everything on track  with your strong organizational and project management skills.  

Bonus Points If You Have: 

  • Startup DNA: You’ve worked in, founded, or closely supported a startup and understand the fast paced, ever-evolving nature of the space.  
  • Venture Capital Exposure: Experience working with VCs, angel investors, or venture capital firms  is a huge plus.
  • Ecosystem Expertise: Knowledge of Edmonton and Canada’s startup landscape and the macro  trends shaping startup development.  
  • GTM Strategist: Experience developing Go-to-Market strategies for early-stage companies and  familiarity with Lean Startup methodologies.
