To establish a critical mass of entrepreneurs working to scale technology and innovation companies toward global impact. We’re building a culture where trying, failing fast, and trying again is part of the process—because every idea has the potential to spark something bigger.

Your Opportunity:

We are looking for a Full-Time, Permanent Events Manager to join our vibrant in-office team in Edmonton, reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications. In this role, you will be the driving force behind Edmonton Unlimited’ s event strategy, overseeing the planning and execution of engaging, impactful events. As a detail-oriented and proactive leader, you thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing logistics, building relationships, and creatively solving challenges to deliver exceptional experiences.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Event Enthusiast: You bring energy, creativity, and a passion for crafting memorable events. From large-scale gatherings to intimate networking sessions, you thrive on delivering engaging experiences that leave a lasting impact.
  • Master of Logistics: You excel at managing timelines, budgets, and schedules, ensuring every event runs smoothly from start to finish. Your attention to detail keeps everything on track, no matter how complex the event.
  • Adaptable Leader: Whether coordinating vendors, guiding speakers, or troubleshooting last-minute hiccups, you stay composed, and solutions focused. You own the on-site experience, making sure everything runs seamlessly.
  • Innovative Thinker: You’re always looking for fresh ways to elevate events, enhance attendee experiences, and drive participation. You embrace creativity and aren’t afraid to experiment with new event formats or technologies.

What You’ll Do:

    • Strategic Event Planning: Develop and implement a high-impact event strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Flawless Event Execution: Oversee timelines, budgets, and production schedules while leading on-site operations, proactively tackling challenges to ensure seamless execution and a top-tier event experience.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Create and maintain relationships with vendors, sponsors, speakers, and key community members.
  • Sponsorship & Fund Development: Identify and cultivate sponsorship and funding opportunities while creating long-term partnerships to elevate event initiatives.
  • Align Events with Goals: Work collaboratively with internal and external teams to plan and execute events that support Edmonton Unlimited’ s objectives and drive success.
  • Community Engagement: Help plan, promote and execute events that connect and energize Edmonton’s innovation community.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Communications, or a related field.
    • Experience: A minimum of five years in event management with hands-on experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with event management CRM tools, including social media management platforms, email marketing systems, and Google Suite.
  • Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative Mindset & Attention to Detail: You think outside the box while maintaining high standards of organization and accuracy.
  • Hands-on Leadership: Comfortable performing physical tasks, including moving equipment and setting up event spaces, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible & Event-Ready: You know that great events often take place outside the typical 9-to-5 schedule, and you’re ready to make them happen, including evenings and weekends.

As part of our team, you’ll enjoy:

  • Learning & Growth: Access professional development opportunities, workshops, and resources to expand your skills and advance your career.
  • Competitive Benefits: We offer a robust benefits package to support your health and well-being.
  • Flexibility: Enjoy sick and personal time when you need it.
    • Event Participation: Be at the center of Edmonton’s innovation scene, contributing to and experiencing exciting events like Startup Week, community gatherings, and more.
  • Celebrate Success Together: Join in on fun opportunities to represent Edmonton Unlimited and celebrate our collective wins.
  • Holiday Shutdown: Recharge during our annual holiday closure.
