The provincial tech database and community gathering space for our province’s companies and founders, Start Alberta, has launched the 4th annual Start Alberta Tech Awards, to recognize both individuals and organizations for their contributions to our province’s tech sector. The 2021 event features 13 award categories which will be individually announced daily starting November 8th through 22nd and will acknowledge and celebrate our province’s standout entrepreneurs, collaborators, investors, and talent within Alberta’s ecosystem.
Following the award announcement earlier today, we are thrilled to extend our warmest congratulations to Innovation Growth Council Member and Co-Founder of Clavis Studio, Abby Aiyeleye, for being awarded the Most Promising Startup Entrepreneur of the Year. This award is presented to an early-stage founder, who exemplifies a pay-it-forward mentality, and demonstrates the ability to launch a tech-focused company while actively supporting the community and helping others.
Conceptualized from the desire to create a seamless and user-friendly home shopping and décor experience, Clavis Conceptualized from the desire to create a seamless and user-friendly home shopping and décor experience, Clavis Studio was co-founded in 2019, as an interactive 3D design and visualization studio. The technology allows homeowners and renovators to decorate homes online using shoppable furniture and décor. Clavis Studio’s services also support new interior designers to kickstart their careers and help realtors stage homes to increase listing potential, to close faster. Among Clavis’s major partners includes household-name retailers such as Crate & Barrel, Wayfair, and Landmark Homes.

In addition to operating a successful startup, Abby also serves as the Vice President of the Alberta Network of Immigrant Women, working to empower immigrant women and foster equality, and is a Committee Member for the Women’s Advocacy Voice of Edmonton, mandated to ensure women’s rights, issues, and opinions are equally represented in City policies, priorities, and decisions.
